Wouldn't You Know It!

So I had a fun, casual birthday this year with the famn damily that was in town. Everyone spoiled me with nice thoughtful gifts.

Bob went out of her way and found me a AR-15 lower receiver. I don't know how she did it.
I have been lamenting for quite a while that I would like another project and wish I could put together another 'black rifle'. As I have mentioned in other threads there has been a huge run on these guns due to the fear of new gun control laws and campaign promises from Barack Obama. Anyway, now I have the base I need to get my next project going. Unfortunately, as I started trying to find parts yesterday I found that people of not only ran on guns, but also on every component from the smallest screw and spring to barrels, etc.
No guns, no PARTS, no project. Maybe Bob can find the parts I need?

A few weeks ago Barack announced that it would not be politically viable to implement any assault weapons ban or restrictions, even though that was one of his campaign promises. Hopefully, with this statement the demand on parts will lesson and I will be able to start on my next project in a few months.
Still very ironic how the efforts of the gun control advocates have placed so many new guns in the marketplace that their efforts have completely backfired on them.

In the mean time, --maybe I will learn how to play the guitar??

Grandslam!

I was fortunate to be in Boston Friday night and attend the Orioles vs. Red Sox Sox game. The Sox are one of the original American League teams and their field Fenway Park is almost as old as the team. Going to a game at Fenway is an amazing experience by itself. Mainly because the the Sox fans are some of the most 'rabid' fans in the world, and if you get a great game like we did, it is even better. Anyone who has been to Fenway and seen the movie 'Fever Pitch' know that the dramatization is not too far off from reality.
There were three home runs Friday night, including a grandslam. A stand up triple and a total of twenty hits for the game, lots of offense. The Sox were down early 7-0, but rallied back for the 10-8 win. Anyway, it was a great night, beautiful weather, great game, great fans and atmosphere.
The last game at Fenway I went to was also against the Orioles, the Sox won and went on to win the World Series, maybe their luck will improve (they are currently in last place in their division) and they can do it again. Stranger things have happened!

He is Risen

Happy Easter,

This is a great time to remember the Prince of Peace and Savior of the World. Hopefully, this remembrance can be reflected in our actions all year.

Have a wonderful day. I am hoping to spend mine with as much family as possible.

Resume Anyone?

So, it is official. I have been nominated by the Governor to serve on the first Utah Health Exchange Risk Adjustment Board as the employer community representative. I am excited to stay engaged and hopefully influence the business processes for the success of the Exchange. I still have to be confirmed by the State Senate before I can serve.

I got a message Tuesday that the Senate needs my resume, ASAP. I haven't had a need or request for my resume in over two decades. ;-) Luckily, I have a secret weapon with Amber C.'s skill and profession. She sent me over a couple of ideas and executive templates that really saved my 'bacon'. After twenty fours years in my profession there is a lot ways, and probably quite a few mistakes I could make on its design.

It has been a crazy week but with her assistance I was able to get it in by the deadline.

Thanks again Amby, I love you.........
